$385.71Award-winning 20cc Yixing teapot with Crab Roe clay, handcrafted by Zhuang Qifang. Golden Prize winner and museum-collected masterpiece.
【Masterpiece Zisha Teapot Recommendation: Nafu】
Today we introduce an extraordinary Yixing zisha teapot. Named "Nafu," this teapot originates from Yixing, China’s renowned pottery capital. Its most notable feature is its entirely handmade craftsmanship, with every detail embodying traditional artistry.
Let’s begin with the clay. This purple clay teapot uses rare "Ultimate Crab Roe Duan" clay from Yixing’s Huanglong Mountain mining area, naturally weathered over decades. The surface reveals golden speckles resembling gilded crab shells. This material not only boasts unique aesthetics but also retains tea temperature and aroma exceptionally. Due to dwindling reserves, such clay teapots are becoming increasingly rare.
With a 200cc capacity, this handmade Yixing teapot is ideal for tea appreciation. Its compact size accelerates aroma release, perfect for brewing pu-erh or aged white tea. Despite its petite form, the spout ensures drip-free pouring, while the lid fits snugly, producing a crisp click when closed.
The body features intricate carvings by national assistant craftswoman Wanqing. Using traditional tools on moist clay, she etched flowing patterns of auspicious clouds and lingzhi mushrooms. These engravings gain three-dimensional depth after firing, enhancing the teapot’s vitality.
Crafted by master artisan Zhuang Qifang with 30 years’ experience, this Chinese zisha teapot underwent 20+ manual processes from clay-slicing to assembly. Zhuang’s expertise lies in handling precious clays, achieving optimal coloration through precise kiln control. The "Nafu" required 72 hours of firing.
This Yixing purple clay teapot has won multiple prestigious awards, including gold at the Yibo Cup Crafts Competition and China Hundred Flowers Award for Arts and Crafts. Judges praised its fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern aesthetics.
Museum collections like Beijing Palace Museum and Nanjing Museum have acquired pieces from this series, affirming its artistic merit and purple clay teapot’s cultural significance. Current market availability remains extremely limited, boosting its collectible value.
Maintenance requires special care: initial "pot-opening" involves simmering in tea for two hours. Clean only with water post-use—no chemicals. Over time, a natural patina forms from tea oils, enhancing its luster.
For tea enthusiasts, this handmade zisha teapot serves both as functional ware and spiritual props. Blending premium materials, masterful artistry, and cultural depth, it represents peak Yixing teapot craftsmanship—equally suitable for personal use or as cultural gifts.
Authentic handmade Yixing teapots like "Nafu" grow scarcer daily. Combining rare materials, master craftsmanship, and award-winning pedigree, this treasure transcends daily tea rituals. Its artistic and investment value will only appreciate with time.
