Master Xu Yuanming's Rong Tian Teapot: A 600cc Jade-Glazed Zisha Artistry
$514.29600cc Yixing Zisha teapot with jade-green glaze, crafted by Master Xu's disciples. Collectible art piece combining premium clay and expert engraving. RMB 3600.
The Yixing zisha teapot represents traditional Chinese craftsmanship, serving not only as tea ware but also as cultural artifacts. This particular handmade Yixing zisha teapot originates from the "Gu-Xu School" of Yixing pottery families, collaboratively created by master artisans with unique collectible value.
Named "Rongtian Teapot", its design embodies the Buddhist concept of "embracing heaven and earth". The rounded body features a naturally curved spout and fluid handle lines. Resembling a compressed sphere with a slightly domed lid, this purple clay teapot demonstrates ergonomic functionality and visual stability. Its repeatedly polished surface reveals a warm luster, offering the distinctive tactile sensation of refined clay.
Two specialists contributed to this Chinese zisha teapot. Wu Yawei, National Senior Craft Artist apprenticed to master Xu Yuanming for over two decades, excels in innovative traditional designs and clay formulation. Shen Qian, renowned engraver, carved landscape patterns with hair-thin yet vigorous strokes on the damp surface. Their collaboration preserves classical charm while incorporating contemporary aesthetics.
Crafted from rare emerald green zisha clay mined from Huanglong Mountain, this Yixing teapot undergoes 1280°C firing to achieve its vivid jade coloration. The 600ml capacity accommodates group tea sessions, particularly ideal for brewing Pu'erh and dark teas. With use, a natural patina develops, enhancing its translucent glow.
Thirty meticulous steps create each handmade Yixing teapot. From mineral selection to clay aging (over three years), every stage matters. Shaping involves manual slab construction on wooden wheels, while kiln temperature precision determines final hue. Each vessel bears unique traces recording the artisans' dedication.
This Yixing purple clay teapot offers practical benefits: Its double-pore structure absorbs tea aromas, while optimal wall thickness ensures heat retention without scalding. Iron-rich clay interacts with tea compounds, enriching flavor profiles. Rinse only with water to maintain luster.
Collectors value this China purple clay teapot for multiple reasons: As part of master Gu Jingzhou's legacy, it represents peak contemporary craftsmanship. Both creators hold national awards, with works appreciating at auctions. Functionally enhancing tea rituals, artistically it elevates living spaces as cultural spiritual props.
Maintenance guidelines: Sterilize new teapots with tea broth, avoid chemicals/oil smoke, clean residue promptly after use, and air-dry upside down. Prevent thermal shocks and prolonged water immersion. Proper care allows this Chinese Yixing teapot to become a decades-long companion, evolving into personalized heritage.
