Masterpiece Jun De Yixing Teapot: Artisan-Crafted Imperial Red Clay Teapot
$128.57Artisan-made Yixing teapot using rare Da Hong Pao clay. 160cc capacity, ergonomic design, and polished finish for optimal tea brewing and visual appeal.
This Yixing purple clay teapot carries the poetic name "Jun De." It was handcrafted by Ke Junfen, a National Craft Artist of China. When discussing purple clay teapots, people naturally associate them with the unique zisha clay from Yixing, Jiangsu Province. This particular teapot employs not ordinary clay but the precious "Original Mine Family Reserve Dahongpao" material. After prolonged aging, this clay develops a distinctive reddish hue when fired, with golden sand particles shimmering across its surface.
With a 160ml capacity, this handmade zisha teapot fits comfortably in the hand. Its plump pear-shaped body combines charming aesthetics with practical functionality, allowing tea leaves to unfurl completely during brewing. The elegantly curved three-bend spout ensures a smooth pour with precise water cutoff, while the classic circular handle remains cool to the touch even when filled with hot water.
The lid demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship through its perfect fit - rotating it produces a soft sandy friction sound. A delicate spherical knob atop the lid provides secure grip. The unglazed surface reveals natural luster, destined to develop richer patina through regular use. Seamless construction showcases harmonious proportions between spout, handle, and body, with every curve meticulously refined.
Ideal for brewing oolong and pu'er teas, this Chinese Yixing teapot's dual-porosity structure gradually absorbs tea aroma. Its 160ml volume serves 2-3 people perfectly, allowing 4-5 infusions per session. Master artisan Ke Junfen devoted over two decades to perfecting her craft, from selecting aged clay to hand-wedging air pockets out of the material. Each element undergoes countless adjustments, particularly the spout which requires dozens of iterations to balance form and function.
Unlike mass-produced counterparts, this authentic purple clay teapot preserves traditional hand-building techniques. Artisanal fingerprints inside the body and the maker's seal beneath the spout testify to its handmade authenticity. Maintenance simply involves rinsing with water (no detergents) and air-drying when not in use. Over time, tea tannins naturally enhance the surface luster through a process enthusiasts call "nurturing the teapot."
The "Jun De" serves equally as functional tea ware and artistic object. Its warm curves invite tactile appreciation during tea rituals, while the vibrant clay coloration adds elegance to any tea setting. For tea connoisseurs, this handmade zisha teapot represents both spiritual prop and enduring companion, designed to improve with age through decades of devoted use.
