Artisan-Crafted Yixing Zisha Teapot: Master Yang Junbao's Ying Piao Design with Engraved Landscapes
$385.71Master-crafted Yixing teapot in rare purple-vermilion clay, showcasing engraved landscapes and flawless pouring. 220cc capacity, symbolizing harmony. Limited edition by Yang Junbao & Wang Pinrong. ¥2700.
This Yixing zisha teapot was jointly created by two masters. Craftsman Yang Junbao, a renowned artist in China's purple clay teapot-making field with over three decades of experience, shaped the vessel. Engraving artist Wang Pinrong, celebrated for his vivid scenes and delicate techniques, executed the surface carvings. Their collaboration endowed this handmade zisha teapot with both practical utility and artistic merit.
Crafted from precious raw zini clay sourced from Huanglong Mountain mining area in Yixing, Jiangsu Province, this Chinese yixing teapot showcases superior material quality. The iron-rich clay develops distinctive purplish-red hues during firing. Given the material's exceptionally high shrinkage rate, precise temperature and humidity control throughout production proved critical - any miscalculation risked cracking or deformation.
Producing such high-shrinkage zisha teapot demands extraordinary skill. Artisans repeatedly pound and knead the clay to eliminate air bubbles and impurities. Precise shrinkage calculations inform structural reinforcements at joints between spout, handle, and body. Three-stage kiln firing at varying temperatures results in less than 20% success rate, ensuring durable construction and optimal breathability.
The teapot features classic Yingpiao silhouette - a hemispherical body paired with straight cylindrical spout for drip-free pouring. The ergonomic semicircular handle complements modern aesthetics while preserving traditional charm. Its 220ml capacity suits 2-3 tea drinkers, balancing brewing efficiency with comfortable handling.
Surface carvings depict magnificent landscapes through varying engraving depths. Mountain ridges and drifting clouds emerge through masterful relief work, with detailed tree textures near foreground and faint pavilions in distance. These tactile patterns serve dual purposes - enhancing grip while symbolizing harmony between humanity and nature through spiritual props.
The Yixing purple clay teapot offers unique tea-brewing advantages. Micro-pores absorb tea aromas over time, eventually scenting plain water. Excellent heat retention and gradual surface patina development enhance functionality. Bearing both creators' seals, this china purple clay teapot embodies traditional craftsmanship and collector's value, representing the profound heritage of Chinese zisha culture while delivering daily artistic pleasure.
