Master Yang Junbao's Man Jiang Hong Yixing Clay Teapot: Guo Chaogang's Ancient Engraving Techniques
$300.00Yang Junbao's 190cc Hong Pao clay teapot with Guo Chaogang's engraving. A timeless Shi Piao design, merging art and functionality for tea enthusiasts.
This Yixing zisha teapot embodies traditional Chinese cultural characteristics through its craftsmanship. Named "Manjianghong Shi Piao," it represents a classic form in zisha teapot design. The teapot body features a stable triangular structure with clean lines that balance traditional charm and modern aesthetics. Visible handcrafted details show rounded corners and natural curves, ensuring comfortable handling.
Crafted from rare "Original Mine Dahongpao" clay sourced from Huanglong Mountain in Yixing, Jiangsu Province, this purple clay teapot material undergoes natural weathering to develop rich mineral content. When fired, it achieves a warm maroon hue with golden speckles. The clay's superior breathability preserves tea's original flavor, making it ideal for brewing pu'er and black tea. With use, the surface develops increasing luster.
Created by Yang Junbao, a national-level craft artist trained under master Gu Jingzhou, this 190-milliliter handmade Yixing teapot demonstrates precise proportions and seamless integration of spout, handle, and body. The Shi Piao design preserves classical techniques while incorporating modern elements, suitable for both solitary tea sessions and small gatherings.
Notable carvings adorn the teapot surface. Front-facing traditional triangular chisel engraving displays bold "Manjianghong" characters, while the reverse depicts a minimalist tea-drinking scene under an ancient tree. The lid's bridge-shaped knob ensures easy handling, with a perfectly fitted edge preventing leaks. Seven evenly distributed filter holes and an ergonomic triangular handle demonstrate functional refinement.
The zisha clay's dual-pore structure allows aroma absorption without retaining odors. Over time, the teapot develops a natural patina, with even heat distribution from its broad base enhancing tea extraction. As a collectible artwork, it includes authentication certificates and the artist's seal. Engravings by collaborator Guo Chaogang add artistic value, transforming it into a three-dimensional canvas.
Proper maintenance involves initial tea-water sterilization, dedicated use for single tea types, and gentle cleaning without chemicals. With care, this purple clay teapot gains richer coloration and becomes a spiritual companion for tea lovers. The "Manjianghong Shi Piao" epitomizes Chinese craftsmanship, blending material selection, shaping techniques, and cultural symbolism into functional art that conveys tea culture's enduring charm through daily use or display.
