Artisan-Crafted Yixing Zisha Teapot: Timeless Elegance & Ming Dynasty Heritage
$235.71Exquisite Yixing Zisha teapot with Kuijinsha clay, wood-fired finish, and master engravings. 40cc capacity, 19-hole filtration, blending tradition with functional elegance.

This handmade Yixing zisha teapot, named "Skyline," was created by National Craft Artist Bao Yuhua, with decorative elements by Li Wei. Li Wei, a Jiangsu Provincial Ceramic Art Master holding senior professional title, serves as professor and dean at Wuxi Institute of Arts and Crafts. He also holds positions as vice president of Yixing Landscape Painting Association and researcher at Xu Beihong Wu Guanzhong Painting Academy. Their collaboration resulted in this exceptional purple clay teapot.

Crafted from rare Yuankuang Kuijinsha clay recorded as "Kuihuang" in Ming Dynasty's Yangxian Minghu Xi, this material originated as interlayers in red clay deposits requiring five high-temperature sealed kiln wood firings without additives. The process yields distinctive celadon tones favored by Ming-era master Xu Youquan.

The 40-milliliter Yixing teapot features a full round shape with smooth, flowing lines balancing visual expanse and stability. Its precisely angled spout and handle create graceful pouring arcs, while 19 diamond-shaped water outlets ensure smooth flow with effective tea leaf filtration.

The most striking feature is Li Wei's "Plum and Bamboo" carving - weathered plum branches intertwining with bamboo leaves on the front, paired with poetic inscription "Elegant bamboo in gentle breeze, proud plum blossoms in snow" on the reverse. Carving depths preserve both natural texture and visual clarity.

Artisan craftsmanship manifests through hammer-released metallic flecks in the clay and flame-kissed surface variations from controlled kiln rotations. The final zisha teapot combines metallic luster with ceramic warmth.

This Chinese purple clay teapot enhances tea rituals through its porous structure that absorbs aromas over time. Ideal for brewing oolong or pu-erh, its compact size and 19-hole design optimize infusion control. The tight-fitting lid prevents leakage during pouring.

As both functional tool and collectible artifact, this Yixing zisha teapot merges traditional technique with contemporary aesthetics. Proper maintenance involves gradual temperature acclimation, tea-bath polishing for natural patina, thorough drying after use, and ventilated storage away from sunlight.

The "Skyline" teapot embodies Yixing's heritage through rare material selection, complex firing processes, ergonomic design, and artistic decoration. Whether as daily utensil or cultural artifact, it showcases Chinese craftsmanship's enduring charm through generations.
