Yang Junbao's Wood-Fired Golden Clay Teapot: Masterpiece Engraved by Guo Chaogang
$300.00Yang Junbao's wood-fired 200cc Zisha teapot showcases golden clay, expert engraving, and balanced design. A functional art piece priced at 2100 RMB.
This Yixing zisha teapot was crafted by Yang Junbao, a state-certified arts and crafts master from Yixing, China, with over four decades of zisha clay expertise. The surface carvings were executed by Guo Chaogang, a nationally recognized senior craftsman researcher. Their collaboration imbues this piece with both practical utility and collectible value.
Made from rare golden duan clay displaying pale golden hues with natural granular texture, the material originates from Yixing's Huanglong Mountain mining area. After three years of natural aging, the 200-milliliter capacity teapot weighs approximately 300 grams, offering comfortable handling for 2-3 tea drinkers.
The distinctive feature lies in its ancient dragon kiln wood-firing process. Artisans burned pine wood continuously for 72 hours in a traditional semi-underground kiln, reaching temperatures up to 1180°C. The flames created natural caramel-colored patterns resembling dappled forest light, with each wood-fired zisha teapot developing unique glaze variations.
Featuring Ming Dynasty-inspired clean lines, the 8cm-tall body with 12cm diameter ensures stable placement. Its triple-curved spout contains seven evenly spaced filter holes, delivering smooth water columns without dripping. The flush-fitting lid with pinecone knob produces crisp friction sounds - characteristic of premium zisha clay's "metallic resonance".
Master Guo's carvings showcase technical brilliance: front-side squirrels holding pinecones with textured fur and dot-shaped eyes appear lifelike, while the reverse displays fluid calligraphic inscription "Forest Serenity" with precisely controlled 0.3mm engraving depth.
The purple clay teapot enhances tea flavors through its dual-pore structure that absorbs impurities. After about ten brews, the surface develops a warm patina. Optimized for oolong or pu'erh teas, its ergonomic handle allows comfortable pouring even when full, with the base bearing Yang's carved seal confirming authenticity.
Proper maintenance involves rinsing with water after use, avoiding detergents, and thorough air-drying during storage. With careful upkeep, this handmade Yixing teapot evolves into a heritage-worthy artwork, blending six centuries of craftsmanship with modern functionality through every step from clay selection to innovative firing techniques.
