Handcrafted Half Moon Yixing Teapot by Master Li Hesheng – Timeless Elegance
$300.00Master-crafted Yixing teapot with vintage green clay, 260cc capacity, nine-hole filtration, and ergonomic half-moon design. A functional art piece for tea enthusiasts.
Today I would like to recommend an exquisite Yixing zisha teapot. This piece named "Half Moon" was created by Li Hesheng, a national-level craft artist in China. With over 30 years of experience in zisha teapot craftsmanship, Master Li is renowned for traditional shapes and meticulous workmanship.
The purple clay teapot uses raw mineral Republic-era green clay from Huanglongshan mining area in Yixing. This distinctive clay develops a unique ink-green hue after firing, known for its warm color tone. Teapots made from this material gradually absorb tea aromas and develop richer luster through prolonged use.
This 260ml handmade Yixing zisha teapot features a medium-sized body inspired by the crescent moon. Its gracefully curved silhouette combines traditional aesthetics with modern ergonomics, featuring smooth rounded edges for comfortable handling. The perfectly flat base ensures stability during tea pouring, with seamless transitions between body and base demonstrating masterful craftsmanship.
The lid adopts classic flush-mounted design, fitting snugly against the rim with barely visible gaps. The spherical knob resembles a dewdrop, providing both functional grip and decorative elegance. When operating the lid, users experience ideal tactile resistance.
The curved spout employs hidden joint technique for harmonious integration with the body. Its tapered parabolic shape ensures smooth water flow without dripping. Practical tests show it creates elegant water streams with clean stops.
The circular handle follows the body's contour with reinforced joints, distributing weight comfortably even when full. Nine diamond-shaped filter holes effectively separate tea leaves while maintaining water flow, easily cleaned with plain water.
As daily tea ware, this 260ml Chinese zisha teapot serves 2-3 people comfortably. The premium clay particularly enhances full-bodied teas like Pu-erh and black tea through heat retention. Maintenance simply requires rinsing with water and air-drying upside down. Avoid detergents as the porous clay absorbs chemicals. Natural patina develops through regular use.
Master Li Hesheng's "Half Moon" preserves traditional zisha teapot techniques while incorporating contemporary design elements. Each piece undergoes dozens of handmade processes by skilled artisans, transforming functional utensils into collectible artworks.
