Exquisite Yixing Clay Teapot: Masterpiece by Bao Yuhua & Li Wei, Dragon Engravings
$257.14Handmade Yixing clay teapot with dragon engravings, octagonal body, and 12-hole spout. Master-crafted by Bao Yuhua and decorated by ceramic artist Li Wei. Symbolic collectible art piece.
Teapot Recommendation! Today's featured Yixing zisha teapot is named "Hun Fang Zun". This isn't just a functional tea vessel, but more like a breathing work of art. Created by master Bao Yuhua, a national-level craft artist specializing in traditional zisha teapot shaping techniques, its exquisite patterns were designed by Professor Li Wei - Jiangsu Ceramic Art Master and Dean of Wuxi Institute of Arts & Technology, renowned for his ceramic decoration achievements.
This Chinese purple clay teapot uses original 40-mesh aged celestial blue clay from Huanglong Mountain's natural deposits in Yixing. The long-term natural weathering process creates its unique bluish-gray hue. The 40-mesh measurement indicates optimal clay granularity, ensuring structural integrity while forming natural textural effects. With 200ml capacity, this medium-sized handmade Yixing teapot works equally well for solo tea sessions or small gatherings.
The design showcases thoughtful craftsmanship: The octagonal prism body features softened edges, achieving "circularity within squareness". Its upward-curving triple-bend spout creates elegant pouring arcs. The quadrilateral flying handle ensures secure grip with distinct angular transitions. The flush-fitting lid preserves aroma, topped with an intricately carved dragon-turtle hybrid - detailed scales meeting majestic dragon features.
Most striking are the surface engravings. The front depicts a five-clawed golden dragon soaring through swirling clouds, while the reverse bears calligraphic verse "When winds arise, the dragon soars ninety-thousand miles" in dynamic brushstrokes. These decorations carry spiritual props - the dragon-turtle symbolizes longevity, the ascending dragon represents career success, together conveying eternal prosperity.
Practical innovations include 12 parallel filter holes for efficient brewing, thickened spout base for focused pouring, and precisely calculated wall thickness for heat retention. When using this Yixing zisha teapot, tea gradually absorbs beneficial minerals from the clay, enhancing flavor depth.
Proper maintenance involves triple tea-boiling initialization ("pot opening") to season the clay. Clean only with water post-use, avoiding detergents. Over time, the surface develops a prized patina called "pot nurturing" - the longer used, the better the tea aroma.
This Hun Fang Zun purple clay teapot perfectly blends tradition with modernity, serving both as tea companion and collectible art. From material selection to firing, every step embodies artisan wisdom. For global tea enthusiasts, such zisha teapot masterpieces offer not just enhanced tea experiences, but a gateway into China's ceramic heritage.
