Discover the Rare Dragon's Blood Clay Teapot: Authentic Handcrafted Yixing Artistry
$428.57Crafted from legendary Dragon's Blood Clay, this 190cc teapot exhibits color-shifting properties under different kiln temperatures. Its mineral-rich composition ensures exceptional tea brewing performance.
Zisha Teapots: A Perfect Blend of Tradition and Innovation
Zisha teapots, as the crown jewels of traditional Chinese tea ware, carry profound cultural heritage and exquisite craftsmanship. Today, a Zisha teapot priced at 3000 CNY is not only a practical tool for brewing tea but also an art piece. The stories and techniques behind it are truly awe-inspiring. Teacher Yang Peng, who has access to high-quality materials, crafted this fully handmade Minglu Zisha teapot with a capacity of 190cc using early Jinlong Xuesha clay, making this work particularly precious.
The Legendary Discovery of Jinlong Xuesha
In 2007, during the construction of Zisha Road in Dingshu Town, workers unexpectedly unearthed a layer of crimson Zisha ore approximately 50 meters from Dashuitan on the third slope of Huanglong Mountain. This discovery was nothing short of miraculous, as the layer was extremely thin, no more than 15 centimeters thick, sandwiched between two large rocks, with a total volume of just a few tons. According to veteran miners, this was the first time they had encountered such a vividly red ore source in their lifetimes. Locals in Jiangnan believe that this signifies tapping into the dragon's blood, symbolizing good fortune and wealth. Therefore, using such a Zisha teapot is believed to bring luck and prosperity.
Unique Mineral Composition
Professional tests revealed that Jinlong Xuesha contains up to 2.46% ferric oxide, making it the highest iron content Zisha ore known to date, nearly double that of ordinary purple clay. This characteristic results in significant color variations at different firing temperatures. When fired at 1180 degrees Celsius, it exhibits a classic China red and develops a metallic luster under high temperature, appearing as brilliant as a gemstone.
Challenges in Manufacturing
Jinlong Xuesha is almost entirely granular with poor adhesion, making it difficult to shape even after being ground to 100 mesh and undergoing extensive processing. This is part of its uniqueness; once fired, it offers superior breathability compared to Dicaoqing. Craftsmen must possess exceptional skill and patience to transform these natural ores into exquisite Zisha teapots. Every step, from selecting materials, forming the body, carving, to firing, demands meticulous attention and dedication.
Artistic Beauty After Seasoning
Initially, a newly fired Zisha teapot may appear dull, but over time, it gradually becomes smooth and lustrous like jade, revealing its unparalleled beauty. This is the charm of Zisha teapots—they are not just tools but artworks that grow with their owners. Through prolonged use and seasoning, the pot absorbs trace elements from tea, forming a natural patina that enhances its smoothness and vibrancy.
Conclusion
In summary, this Zisha teapot priced at 3000 CNY is more than just a commodity; it is a historical witness and a cultural legacy. The unique material of Jinlong Xuesha and the masterful craftsmanship endow it with incomparable value. Whether for collection or daily use, it adds a distinctive touch to your life. Each Zisha teapot is a unique work of art, worthy of careful appreciation and preservation.
