Skyline Zisha Teapot: Limited Edition Handcrafted Masterpiece by Ceramic Artist Juan Zhang
$685.71Handmade Skyline Zisha Teapot by Juan Zhang. 250cc aged purple clay, interlocking design. Premium collectible, ¥4800. New release.
The new Yixing teapot "Skyline" is now officially available! Crafted by artisan Zhang Juan using aged zisha clay from her family's collection, this 250ml teapot combines traditional clay marbling techniques with modern aesthetics, making it ideal for tea enthusiasts seeking both functional and collectible pieces.
Inspired by the classic "Well Curb" shape but reimagined with contemporary flair, the teapot features full-bodied curves and fluid lines that balance solidity with dynamic energy. Its distinctive handle extends naturally from the shoulder before tapering elegantly at the belly, ensuring comfortable handling through thoughtful ergonomic design.
The surface showcases traditional clay marbling craftsmanship, where Zhang expertly blended light and dark clays to create ink-wash painting-like gradients. The swirling patterns resembling flowing sunset clouds inspired the name "Skyline". The twenty-year-aged zisha clay develops unique purplish luster during firing and improves tea aroma retention through superior porosity compared to regular clay.
Practical details include a compact triple-curved spout ensuring precise pour control with leak-free performance, and a perfectly fitted lid that remains secure even when inverted. Interior hand-finishing marks visible through wall-scraping techniques confirm authentic handmade production, while optimized air vents balance airflow and tea filtration.
Ideal for brewing pu'er and dark teas requiring high-temperature steeping, the 250ml capacity suits both solitary meditation and small gatherings. The aged clay's thermal retention helps fully extract tea essence. Artisan Zhang Juan, with eighteen years' experience under national masters, spent two months perfecting this piece that won multiple craft awards.
Maintenance tips include initial triple-boiling with tea broth to remove earthy notes. Regular polishing with tea liquor and prompt drying after use will gradually develop a jade-like patina. Proper care ensures this teapot becomes a lasting spiritual props, accumulating memories through daily rituals.
More than functional ware, this purple clay teapot set serves as inheritable art. Its minimalist form complements modern interiors while commanding attention on tea trays. Whether for personal enjoyment or as a refined gift, it evolves into a unique chronicle of life's moments through accumulated use.
