Masterpiece Yixing Zisha Teapot Water Drop by Wang Zhenghong: A Blend of Artistry and Tea Culture
$514.29Artisan-crafted Yixing teapot with Lao Zini clay, 250cc capacity, water-drop-inspired lid, and tea ceremony harmony. 3600 CNY.
This teapot named "Water Droplet" is a Yixing teapot created by Chinese ceramic artist Wang Zhenghong from Yixing. As a national-level craft artist, Wang used aged raw zisha clay to create this 250-milliliter tea set. The purple clay teapot features a full, rounded shape resembling gently rippling water in a spring pond.
The body adopts traditional circular design allowing tea leaves to fully expand during brewing. The upward-curved handle provides secure grip and comfort. The press-fit lid technique ensures perfect seal with the pot mouth, preventing leaks. Observing the lid top reveals recessed line decorations adding dimensional aesthetics.
The most distinctive feature is the knob resembling a water droplet falling into liquid. When viewed from above, the slightly sunken patterns around the knob evoke water ripples. This design embodies the philosophy of Eastern tea ceremony - maintaining inner peace like calming water waves.
The precious aged zisha clay comes from deep within Yixing's Huanglong Mountain mining area. After years of natural weathering, this material develops fine texture. Fired zisha clay shows varying purple hues resembling sunset clouds. Prolonged use develops warm luster on the teapot's surface.
The spout contains filter holes preventing tea leaves from escaping. When tilted, water pours in elegant arc resembling mountain waterfall. The 250ml capacity suits 2-3 people for tea sessions, balancing practicality and elegance.
This Chinese Yixing teapot offers multiple benefits. The porous zisha material preserves tea's optimal flavor while thicker walls maintain heat - ideal for brewing pu'er and black teas. The spherical shape facilitates thorough cleaning without residue accumulation.
Proper maintenance requires rinsing with clean water after use, avoiding detergents. Air-dry with lid open and store ventilated areas away from sunlight when not in use. Over time, natural patina forms from tea oil penetration through the zisha clay.
The "Water Droplet" represents traditional Chinese craftsmanship, involving dozens of manual processes from material selection to shaping. No mold marks appear on the body, showcasing the artisan's expertise. Wang's engraved seal at the base guarantees authenticity.
For tea enthusiasts, using handmade Yixing teapot elevates the tea experience. Watching steaming water pour into the vessel and feeling the warm handle during serving creates inherent relaxation. This water-inspired teapot reminds users to maintain fluid serenity in fast-paced modern life.
Increasing numbers of international collectors appreciate zisha teapots as both functional tools and cultural artifacts. Serving tea with these pots adds ceremonial significance when entertaining guests. Different Yixing teapot shapes suit various tea types, reflecting the charm of tea culture.
Quality zisha teapots evolve with use like living objects. Initial roughness gradually transforms into smooth texture through months of care. Tea aroma permeates the clay over time, eventually allowing faint fragrance detection even when brewing plain water. This unique characteristic makes purple clay teapots lifelong companions for tea lovers.
