Zisha Teapots: Crafted from Da Hong Pao clay, showcasing elegant design and fine texture.
$385.71Zisha teapots, as traditional handicrafts with a rich cultural heritage, have always been highly favored by collectors and tea enthusiasts. Today, we introduce the Ming
This teapot is named "Minglu", representing a classic style in traditional Chinese tea ware. Its design combines grandeur with vitality, maintaining the solemnity of classical artifacts while incorporating modern minimalist aesthetics. With a height of 8.5cm and 170ml capacity, this Yixing purple clay teapot is ideal for serving 2-3 tea drinkers. The visible coarse sand particles on its surface originate from the rare Day Hongpao clay sourced from Huanglong Mountain in Yixing.
The material used holds special significance. The raw Day Hongpao clay develops its distinctive deep red hue through reduction firing, a process that limits oxygen supply during kiln heating to induce iron element transformation. This technique creates natural metallic luster and richer coloration compared to regular red clay. The coarse sand texture not only enhances tactile experience but also improves tea aroma release during brewing.
Inspired by Ming Dynasty Xuande censers, the teapot replicates their signature rounded silhouette with slightly bulging midsection and stable base. The flush-fitting lid features a pearl-shaped knob for easy handling. Its curved spout ("single-bend flow") ensures smooth pouring without dripping, while the circular handle provides comfortable grip.
Crafted by Zhou Lianghong, a national-level artisan with three decades of experience, each piece undergoes dozens of manual processes from clay preparation to final polishing. The interior reveals traditional "wall-pushing and base-scraping" marks that authenticate handcrafted production.
When brewing tea, the porous clay gradually absorbs tea oils, developing richer patina over time. Particularly suitable for black tea and pu'er, it enhances tea liquor richness. Post-use maintenance requires simple water rinsing without detergents to preserve natural luster.
This collectible teapot combines practical function with artistic value, reflecting Zhou's signature fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetics. Each reduction-fired piece shows unique color variations, making every teapot truly one-of-a-kind. The artist's seal at the base serves as authentication.
The 170ml capacity allows three small servings, minimizing waste. Its low-profile design fits modern tea trays perfectly. Whether for personal use or gifting, it makes an elegant statement. With proper care - initial warm water rinsing, gentle tea-bath maintenance, and thorough drying - this spiritual props for tea lovers will develop personalized character through years of companionship, becoming an enduring part of your tea ritual.
