The Yixing zisha teapot stands as one of the representative artifacts of traditional Chinese handmade tea utensils. Master Yang Peng's fully handmade creation, named "Junde", has a capacity of 180 milliliters and is crafted from rare Longshan coarse-grained Dahongpao clay. This distinctive material originates from the small coal mining area at the junction of Rentu Village and Hongwei Village in western Fudong Township, Yixing City, China. Belonging to interbedded tender clay, Dahongpao material forms within unique geological structures requiring decades of sedimentation before becoming workable.

Clay quality directly determines the final excellence of zisha teapots. Freshly mined Dahongpao ore appears goose-yellow, but through sun-curing and processing, its iron oxide components undergo chemical transformations during high-temperature firing. After kiln treatment at approximately 1190°C, the entire purple clay teapot transforms into vibrant vermilion - the most distinctive chromatic characteristic of Dahongpao material, exhibiting natural luster with pure, layered red hues.

Crafting such teapots demands exceptional skill. With over two decades of experience in zhuni zisha teapot making, Master Yang specializes in handling high-shrinkage clays. The 45-55% shrinkage rate of Dahongpao clay means fired teapots reduce nearly half in volume. Each production phase requires precise calculation to prevent deformation, from slab-beating to spout assembly, demanding uninterrupted execution to avoid clay cracking.

The most striking feature of this "Junde" teapot lies in its unique surface texture. Coarse sand particles distribute evenly across the body, creating natural undulations. Fingers detect subtle granular friction when touching the vessel, a design enhancing both visual appeal and tea-brewing breathability. The flawless lid-body fit demonstrates traditional craftsmanship through drip-free pouring.

Dahongpao zisha teapots offer multiple tea-brewing advantages. High iron content softens water quality over time, enriching tea liquor's mellow taste. The 180ml capacity suits 2-3 drinkers, while ergonomic curves ensure comfortable handling. Particularly recommended for pu'er and black teas, the interior micro-pores effectively absorb tea aromas, developing warmer patina with repeated use.

Maintenance requires specific care: initial warm water rinsing without detergents, prompt residue removal after use, and regular tea-cloth polishing for natural patina formation. Unlike other zisha wares, Dahongpao teapots shouldn't undergo prolonged soaking to preserve clay integrity.

Master Yang's creation innovates upon traditional forms. The "Junde" shape derives from Qing Dynasty classics but features redesigned spout angles for smoother pouring. The proportioned knob complements the body, while raised seal engraving on the base authenticates craftsmanship. This piece serves both as functional utensil and collectible artwork.

Given Dahongpao clay's mining challenges, such teapots remain exceptionally rare. Only 2-3 out of 10 creations pass strict quality control. The surface "valley-wrinkle" texture naturally forms through shrinkage, resembling tree rings that document thermal transformations. For tea enthusiasts, this Chinese Yixing teapot transcends brewing functionality, becoming a spiritual prop that embodies traditional artistry.
