This Yixing purple clay teapot originates from China's most renowned zisha ceramics family. Its creator Master Wang Fang was born in Shangyuan Village, Dingshu Town, Yixing City, Jiangsu Province - the heartland of purple clay teapot production. Known as the "Cradle of Zisha Teapots," this village has nurtured countless masters over centuries. Born in 1968 into this pottery-steeped family, Wang Fang's growth story embodies the living heritage of zisha craftsmanship.

The art of purple clay teapot making has been passed down through generations in the Wang family. Wang Fang's grandfather Mr. Wang Yinchun was recognized as one of the "Seven Elders of Zisha" during the early years of New China. These seven masters represent the most significant figures in zisha history, excelling in traditional techniques while mentoring numerous apprentices. Specializing in square-shaped teapots, Mr. Wang Yinchun invented various tools still used today. Her father Wang Sanda inherited these skills, becoming a contemporary master. Other relatives including uncle Wang Shigeng, aunt Wang Xiaolong, and aunt Gao Lijun are all celebrated artists in the zisha community.

Master Wang Fang began learning teapot craftsmanship after high school. She started with fundamental clay slab forming under her father's guidance, gradually mastering all 30+ manual processes: mineral selection, clay refining, body forming, spout installation, handle attachment, and detail finishing. Each step demands meticulous handwork where any mistake ruins previous efforts. Her father's strict training forged exceptional foundational skills.

The "Liufang Ruding" (Six-Square Milk Cauldron) stands as Wang Fang's masterpiece. Its hexagonal body combines crisp lines with subtle curves, while the slightly domed lid echoes ancient bronze vessels, topped with a nipple-shaped knob. This fusion of angular and circular elements preserves tradition while adding modern aesthetics. The medium-sized vessel demonstrates perfect ergonomics when held.

This handmade Yixing teapot uses exceptionally rare clay. Yixing's unique purple clay develops distinctive texture through prolonged aging. Wang Fang selected material aged over two decades - such clay better preserves tea aroma during brewing. Firing processes create natural color variations, like dressing the teapot in earthy garments.

As inheritor of this legacy, Wang Fang both preserves ancestral techniques and innovates. After professional design training, she integrated modern aesthetics into traditional craft. The "Liufang Ruding" features precisely calculated proportions, clean angles, and thoroughly tested spout/handle curves ensuring drip-free pouring.
